Production and distribution
A group of women in post-communist Cambodia fight an uphill battle against forced evictions. The government grants land concessions to powerful companies to use for commercial purposes. Some of these lands belong to the people. Facing threats, intimidations, and a corrupt justice system, those who dare to protect their land risk their lives doing so. The film keeps a close track on the district Boeung Kak residents' struggle, while also letting Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and the opposition have their say.
