For the first time, after three years of existence, the GCPLL (General Inspector of All Places of Loss of Liberty) accepts that a film crew follows this independent French body carry out its meticulous work, essential to the control of fundamental rights in prisons, psychiatric hospitals, and police stations. Stéphane Mercurio followed fifteen inspectors. Their places of mission: the women's prison in Versailles, Evreux psychiatric hospital, Centrale on the Ile de Ré, and lastly the brand new prison in Bourg-en-Bresse. During these few weeks of immersion alongside the inspectors that takes us into the disciplinary quarters, outdoor yards, and the secret of solitary confinement, a curtain lifts on imprisonment and the reality of fundamental rights in these places.
