Synopsis
A documentary on the last Chinese steam engines in the warehouse Daban of the company of railroad Jitong (in Internal Mongolia). The locomotive is the symbol of heavy industrial times. In this movie, the circling toxic vapors of the train create a kind of absurd beauty. The employees of Jitong are masked behind the images of gigantic locomotives. Their words release themselves in front of the camera. People are nostalgic, restless, satisfied, more or less aware of their exploitation at the time. Their dialogues represent a radical attitude of the worship of the money by describing the expansion of the socité Jitong, revealing of China in development.
