Teheran, 1958. Since his beloved violin was broken, Nasser Ali Khan, one of the most famous musicians of his time, has lost all taste for music. Finding no instrument worthy enough to remplace his violin, he decides he'll go to bed and wait for death. While hoping for it to come, he drifts into deep reveries as melancholy as they are joyful, which take him back to his youth. They lead him to speak with Azrael, the angel of death, and reveal his childrens' future.
