    Synopsis

    The last 15 years of the Ceausescu regime were the worst in the history of Romania. And yet, the official propaganda operating at the time had called them the Golden Age. Stories of the Golden Age is the adaptation for the screen of the best known urbran legends of the time. They are comic, strange, moving and find their inspiration in everyday life that is often surreal, when humor was the only way of surviving. Stories of the Golden Age recreates the atmosphere of the period and sketches, by light touches, the portrait of a country subjected to the perverse logic of a dictatorship. To pay for his sick mother's treatment, a young girl sets out along the road with her turkey that she must sacrifice. When a driver-delivery man decides, for the first time in his career, to open his sealed truck, he discovers the link between eggs, Easter and conjugal love... In the Romania of the 1980s, Bughi and Crina played at Bonnie and Clyde, by collecting bottles of air...
