A queen, lying on her deathbed, tells her eight children of her last wishes. Next to her, Jean, the youngest of her children, plays with a doll. Against all expectations, Jean is named king, in front of his astonished brothers and sisters. He will be the first deaf king! Jean finds himself locked up in a crate. Isolated, abandoned by everyone, the little king reinvents a world in his own image.
