December 31, 1990. The ultimatum issued by the UNO to Irak expires in fifteen days: if Saddam Hussein doesn't withdraw from Koweit, the Allies have a mandate to use force. In the editorial rooms of the West, World War Three is discussed. In Jerusalem, anxiety is running high: Saddam Hussein threatens to use Scud missiles armed with chemical and bacteriological warheads against Israel.
23-year-old Luisa, a French-Italian woman, is studying ancient history at Jerusalem university. Nathanael, a young French painter, makes ends meet by working as a security guard in East-Jerusalem. Their relationship, which is violent and complex, is of the "neither with you, nor without you" mode.
Like them, their friends, neighbors, and acquaintances tensely wait for the end of the ultimatum, their anxiety increasing. How do you live when life is hanging by a thread? What do you do with your days, your nights when apocalypse is hovering?
