Pauline, a rich hieress, has been married off against her will by her father to François, one of his employees, who made her pregnant. When, a few months later, her husband declares that he wants to leave her, Pauline, furious, leaves threatening messages on his voice mail.

Alexis Target, a laborer working in Pauline’s house, hears the young woman making her threats. François dies that very evening in a car accident. The day of François's funeral, Alexis returns to see Pauline to tell her that he has carried out her wish and killed her husband.

Alexis then insinuates himself into Pauline’s life, for he, too, seeks revenge.
