Synopsis
The island of Elba, 1814.
What Martino hates most in the world is Napoleon. Every night, he even dreams that he kills the Wretched Tyrant.
When the Emperor suddenly arrives on the island, vanquished and exiled, Martino thinks it’s a sign… and gets his old pistol ready.
What Martino loves the most in the world is Baroness Emilia, but all she thinks about is going to live in Naples, determined to distance herself from her lover who is much too young.
History will bring Napoleon and Martino – still obsessed about killing the Emperor – closer together. But Napoleon is so touching, moving, even, that Martino hesitates and almost seems conquered…
