Synopsis
Each week in three public hospitals in the Paris region, a psychologist and two doctors receive men and women suffering from work-related illness.
One after the other, four people (an assembly line worker, agency director, nurse’s aid, shop manager) talk about the workplace and the suffering it causes during a prolonged interview. The three professional specialists listen and slowly make the connection between individual suffering and new work structures.
Through the intimacy, intensity, and truth of all these ordinary dramas caught live, the film testifies to the way in which illness has become a commonplace occurrence in the workplace. "Ils ne mouraient pas tous mais tous étaient frappés" takes a look behind closed doors where an invisible and silent reality takes shape and meaning: distress in the workplace.
