Synopsis The songs of the group Mahaléo sowed the seeds of the 1972 uprising in Madagascar that provoked the fall of the neo-colonial regime there. Today they are integrated into the lives of the people of Madagascar, in whose language “Mahaléo” signifies freedom, independence and autonomy. The seven musicians who form the group have never been part of the world of showbiz, despite thirty years of success, choosing instead to be involved in the development of their country. These precursors of Madagascan blues are also a doctor, farmer, sociologist, politician and surgeons.
Guided by the power and emotion of their songs, the film is a portrait of Madagascar today.
