Synopsis

When her mother dies, 14-year-old Grace decides to return to Africa to find Gary, her geologist father whom she has hardly seen since her parents divorced. The reunion of these two hypersensitive people gets off to a rocky start, particularly when a rescue mission separates them once again. Caught in violent winds, Gary’s plane crashes in the middle of the desert where he’s taken prisoner by a guerilla group in search of diamonds.
When rescue attempts are slow to get off the ground, Grace sets off in search of Gary, accompanied by Kadjiro, the family’s former guide. Unaware of the risks they’re taking, they head off alone into the desert where Grace will attempt to retrace, in the opposite direction, the path that separated her from her father.
