It’s the story of Claude Mendelbaum, a doleful kind of guy with a rather un-sexy job and a mother who is losing her mind. He’s warm-hearted and timid, a bit heavy-set. And he works in a supermarket. In short, he’s the kind of guy that women pass by. Thus he’s alone, and has been so for two years now.
But he can’t stand being alone anymore. He goes out looking for The Woman. He finds a partner in his crusade, Serge, a spiritual guide who is quite his opposite. Serge is a man who’s afraid of nothing, not even of being laughed at.
Our two buddies realize that the thing that they were searching for was staring them in the face the whole time, without them knowing it: a true friendship.
