DirectorActorsSynopsisOur film, oscillating between reality and fiction, is set in New York and the Dominican Republic in the fifties, and again in the latter during the eighties. It is based on the eponymous novel by Manuel Vasquez Montalban. At the end of the eighties, Muriel Colber, a student, goes to Spain to prepare her thesis on Jesus of Galindez. From the Basque region, he became an exile in the United States after the Spanish Civil War. He was kidnapped and disappeared in strange circumstances in 1956 in New York. Little by little, Muriel’s investigation reaches beyond an academic framework and begins to reveal myriad political machinations. Those responsible for Galindez’s death will do everything possible to put Muriel off their scent. “Galindez” is more than just a political thriller. It’s also a love story and a quest for truth. AboutThis film was nominated for the Goya awards for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction 2004. Production photos (2)
