Synopsis
“Divert attention, that’s the key. If you keep that in mind, no one will ever arrest you.” These are the last words said by Arsène Lupin’s father before he’s murdered. The young orphan grows up to be a carefree thief, making use of his formidable charm to rob the Parisian aristocracy.
His encounter with a bewitching adventuress, Countess de Cagliostro, transforms the apprentice pickpocket into a topnotch thief. While tracking down lost treasure once belonging to the kings of France, and coveted by a royalist brotherhood, the young virtuoso pulls off one dazzling coup after another: an attack on a train tearing along at top speed, a chase through Paris’s catacombs, a spectacular theft at the Rouen cathedral.
But his blind passion for the wicked countess leads him astray.
