Alexandre and Paul are the heroes of an adventure comedy; a tale of friendship in which a crafty dropout sets himself up in the apartment of a young musician, creating chaos in the other man’s somewhat over-organized life.
A scheming layabout, Paul is used to squatting other people’s homes. Except, he’s now run out of luck and no one wants him around anymore. After a hellish night, he learns by chance that Alexandre lives alone in an apartment owned by his friend, Christophe, who has left for Angola. Leaping on this golden opportunity, Paul passes himself off for Christophe’s cousin and settles into the apartment, disrupting this burgeoning artist’s peaceful, uneventful life. Paul thinks he’s found the perfect sucker.
Paul, making a living by petty swindles, leads Alexandre into a series of misadventures. They cross paths with Cécilia and Alexandre falls in love with her.
But, once again, Paul’s dubious past catches up with him and he has no other option than to rip off the only friend he has left. This provokes a catastrophe that causes Cécilia and Alexandre to split up. Paul, riddled with guilt, decides to make amends and does everything he can to remedy the situation.
This leads to one final adventure, orchestrated by Paul, that brings the couple back together during a hasty departure for London. But Paul has saved up one last surprise for them – one to beat all the others.
