Synopsis

A strange investigation doesn’t erase the regrets of a grieving woman cop. Every four years, the past catches up with her. Every four years this woman is very afraid. Her fear is such that she feels it could kill her because in her dreams reality begins.

Subject

"Hanging Offense" is for Josiane Balasko.

The screenplay was written specifically for the actress and offers her a role that it is light-years away from those she usually plays. The film, with its suspense, ambiguous characters, tense atmosphere and Machiavellian intrigue, has a Hitchcockian tone to it. It takes place near Fontainebleau, on the outskirts of Paris, and retraces the story of a police captain who has to deal with a horrible murder case that starts out with an unexplained suicide and becomes a veritable epidemic.
