Synopsis Axis, the World-Tree is in danger of dying. Its sap is drying up. Its people’s pleas to the gods are all in vain. Overcome by strange visions, Kaena is convinced that Axis calls for her help. A rebellious young girl, she defies the taboos of her tribe and the authority of the Great Priest. She sets off on a perilous journey to the roots of Axis, helped by a mysterious creature from another world.
