They all hang out together at the “Wharol,” a very gay bar. But the day Marie announces she's going to move in with her boyfriend, the sky seems to fall on Odile's head.
She’s faced by the empty-nest syndrome, time that has passed and keeps going by. She’s afraid of growing old alone. Who can she now worry about? Who will she roast a chicken for? Questions of this sort could easily ruin an “Adamo” evening, but the songs Odile hears at it make her long for her teenage years again, for that time when everything is possible and emotions are deep and true.
She meets Kader, Idir and Rachid, three fairground workers. She used to be afraid of carousels, but now you can’t keep her away. Her unexpected behavior creates havoc for her friends.
“Your Hands on My Hips” is a film about the tyranny of crow’s feet and the desire to once again wear cherries like earrings. It is about the desire for love, the need for a lightness of being and the quest for happiness, because Odile, Myriam and Nathalie all deserve it!
