Christine is just like everyone else. She knows how to do the shopping, to keep her house in order, to work as a temp secretary, to have lunch at her parents’ place, to join a driving school.
But doesn’t she overdo each of these activities? Doesn't she try just a little too hard? We could say that, unlike other people, Christine doesn't have a casual or nonchalant approach to life.
Other people adapt themselves to the world, but not Christine. She can’t even tell her parents that she's single. She invents a man in her life who just happens to be her driving instructor.
And then one day, when she finds herself chatting to Patricia, the director of the temping agency, who is kind to her and seems genuinely interested in her, something at last seems possible…
