Through the sign-language account of a deaf actor, we discover the life and work of the Japanese photographer Koji Inoue who was born in 1918 at Fukuoka on an island in south-west Japan. He went deaf at the age of three following an accident. Photography soon became a means of expression for him. He won a number of prizes and, thanks to his son, found fame at the end of his life.
