Synopsis
One winter night, sometime in the 19th century, a tenant farmer returns from the fields and tells the inhabitants of his village that he's just been attacked by a gang of bandits roaming the region. The news spreads fast through the countryside and reaches the neighboring village. Mass psychosis takes hold, heightened by the fact that the following day all the men must leave for an annual fair.
