VaillontDirected by Renzo Martinelli Produced by SDP Films Genres : Fiction - Runtime : 1 h 53 min French release : 27/11/2002 Production year : 2000
DirectorActorsSynopsisThe film is based on a real life story that shook up Italy in the sixties and marked the country’s history forevermore. A confrontation ensues between two men, Semenza and Biadene, and Tina Merlin, a journalist. They are in conflict about the disputed construction of Europe’s biggest dam in the Vajont valley. Dramatic consequences loom in this undertaking, namely the danger of a huge landslide. The inevitable occurs: the mountain collapses and the results are catastrophic. The film is in a realistic thriller style. However it is more than a disaster movie filled with spectacular special effects. Above all, it is the story of human drama and a warning about the catastrophes that lie ahead for humankind. Production photos (7)
