About
I'd already done a bit of mountaineering, but Chamonix has some interesting
peculiarities: it's very steep and you're immediately find yourself in
snow. If you come from Paris, you suffocate, not only because of the
altitude, but because the air is so pure... I naively thought that mountain
sickness was something funny, I felt great. 9000 feet up, it was like being
hit on the back of the head. I was ill. It was then that I realized just
how physiologically testing mountains can be.
Edouard Niermans - Co-director, excerpt from the press folder
