I’d been thinking about coming back to a personal film for a long time. People encouraged me, and I was touched by their efforts but I wasn't really motivated. My life as director, producer and art lover isn't very interesting as a movie. Then a spark lit up in the spring of 1998, when rumors began to circulate about that pill. For me, Viagra is just a comic device in the film. I hope people will see "La Débandade" like one of those Italian comedies from the '70s that I so loved.
