Synopsis Romain, a farmer and widower in Brittany, owns a herd of about twenty cows. He has an eight year-old son called Lucas. The boy's mother died during childbirth. When they first came to live on the farm, Romain gave his wife a cow from the very distinctive Galloway breed (small and white, with big black ears). Romain, who has always dreamed of travelling to far-off lands, named his cows after Polynesian islands. The Galloway cow is called Fatoré. At the beginning of our story Fatoré gives birth to a little calf called Maéva. Unfortunately, the birth is complicated and Fatoré dies during it. Struck by the same fate, Lucas and Maéva became extraordinarily good friends… Festival selections |
