Michael Kael, the Paris correspondent for a large American news channel, the World News Company, is sent to Africa to cover a run-of-the-mill dance festival. Though he doesn’t know it, he is a pawn in a gigantic worldwide media scheme to re-elect the President of the United States. There is just one problem: Michael Kael is so incompetent that he’s about to balls up the whole operation.
AboutThis comedy doesn’t take itself seriously. What was interesting about it was working on the slightly excessive realism of the characters without lapsing into farce. The audience have to be helped to identify with a character like Michael Kael. In fact, he is likeable because he is naive and because he possesses all the human faults and weaknesses. He is touching. He is useless but still, he saves the world.
