Synopsis New York, May 1927. Lindberg has just flown across the Atlantic and America is celebrating its hero. Lisa, a chambermaid in a luxurious hotel, who has for a long time dreamed to go back to the small village in Siberia from which her parents emigrated, decides to leave after watching a young man, rich and drunk running after her, lean over the handrail of the stairs and fall down. Once her desire and the fear of being involved in the death of the young man merge in her, nothing can stop her, neither the friendship with Shan, neither Carlo's love, nor the vision of the tremendous distance to walk over. She learns to live on the road, to sleep under the stars, to pull through troubles and to walk out 25 miles a day. It's more difficult to resist the charm of John, a young man who runs into her while she's sleeping on the beach in Chicago, falls in love, and doesn't want to let her go. But Lisa does not want to give up her aim... |
