Synopsis
The mischievous, keen gazes of the twenty-seven kids in Isabelle Sandot's elementary class seem much more full of mirth than is normally found at school. Out of choice as well as necessity, Isabelle has adopted unusually playful teaching methods in this special school in a tough neighborhood. She is not a mere teacher, she is an educator : through gameplaying activities like the (pretend) theft of the class stopwatch, Isabelle teaches the kids concepts of citizenship and civic duty.
Documentary film-maker Maria Koleva continues to explore concrete reality through revealing shots of the children's faces as they discover for themselves the meaning of word, or learn about the existence of an international convention on the Rights of Children. The wonderful potential for teaching children from underprivileged backgrounds is presented in an edifying yet amusing way...
