On the train to Portugal sits Julien, drifting in and out of sleep, losing himself in a dream world that moves to the rhythm of the tracks. At the border, a young woman, Sophie enters the compartment. The two travelers strike up a conversation. An accident. Julien falls from the train. He ragains consciousness. Sophie is by his side. Once again he passes out. He wakes up in an unfamiliar place, baroque and mysterious. Then Sophie appears, serene, and introduces her sister Mina, who looks surprisinging like her. Both Julien's legs are in casts. He feels like prisoner. Why is there no pain ? Why do they keep knocking him out with medication? Why is he haunted by a childhood memory? To each of these questions, Sophie finds some conforting answer ; but each time new events show she has lied. Who is Sophie ? Julien is being taken care of well : he should just relax. Everything will be fine in a few day... or a few seconds...
