Shadow of a Doubt is a psychological thriller. Twelve-year-old Alexandrine has the soft-spoken voice of a polite little girl, and is apparently the only witness to a crime that she can barely bring herself to mention. Just a few words are required, however, to sow panic among her relatives, her teacher, the police and judges.
But why would Alexandrine make horrible accusations against her own father, only to retract them later? Whose word is to be believed? That of a child or that of a distressed father who would do anything to save his family?
