Promoted by ANAC (the National Association of Cinematographic Authors) and the authors of API (Independent Authors and Producers), le Giornate degli Autori - Venice Days were created in 2004 as an independent sidebar of the International Film Festival of Venice, having in mind the syle of the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and Panorama in Berlin.
