Biography

Charlotte de Turckheim began her acting career in the theater with Jean-Noël Fenwick's "Le Bonbon magique" in 1978. She was soon doing her own highly successful one-woman shows on stage. Her movie career has concentrated on comedies such as "Le Maître d'école" (1980), "Ma femme s'appelle reviens" (1981), "Signes extérieurs de richesse" (1983), "Docteur Apfelglück" (1990), and "Une journée chez ma mère" (1994), inspired by the play she co-wrote with Bruno Gaccio in 1990. In 1995, de Turckheim performed in "Ma journée à moi," after which she began collaborating with Philip Giangreco on the screenplay for "My Father, My Mother, My Brothers and Sisters," which is her first feature film as a director. She has also worked on films for television. Her second feature is titled "Les Aristos."
