Born in Lisbon, 1950. Studied Chemical Engineering.

In 1971 departs to London, and in 1973, he is in Paris. His connection to the cinema becomes effective in 1974, as he starts to work with Frederic Mitterrand in the cinema Olympic, but the decisive step will be taken with Action Republique, where besides being a demanding exhibitor, he will distribute films of directors that would become reknown in European cinema.

In 1979 he begins his activity as a producer, between Paris and Lisbon, and until today, he has produced over 150 films of directors such as Manoel de Oliveira, Wim Wenders, Alain Tanner, Werner Schroeter, Raoul Ruiz, João César Monteiro, Danièle Dubroux, João Botelho, Christine Laurent, Pedro Costa, Sharunas Bartas, among others.
