Biography

Stéphane Brizé is a director and screenwriter. In 1993, he wrote and directed Bleu dommage, a short-film which won the Grand Prix at the Cognac Festival. In 1996, he wrote and directed L'œil qui traîne, a short-film which won the Grand Prix at the festivals of Vendôme, Rennes, Mamers and Alès and which also won the award for best actor at the Saint-Denis festival. He also directed a video clip for the singer Peter Kröner. In 1998, he co-wrote Le Premier pas with Florence Vignon. Hometown Blue is his first feature, also co-written with Florence Vignon, who in addition plays the lead. The film, which was premièred at the Cannes Director's Fortnight, won the Michel d'Ornano Best Screenplay Award. In 2005, he directs Not Here to Be Loved with Patrick Chesnais, Anne Consigny and Georges Wilson.
