Complete filmography

Nanni Moretti was born in Italy in 1953. He directed his debut feature “I Am Self Sufficient”, filmed in Super 8, at the age of 23 and quickly established himself as the leading figure of his generation and a kingpin of Italian cinema. He directed six more films within fifteen years: “Ecce bombo” (1978), “Sweet Dreams” (1981), “Bianca” (1984), “The Mass Is Ended” (1985), “Palombella Rossa” (1989) and “Dear Diary” (1993). To give himself more scope, in 1986 he founded his own production company, Sacher Film, which since then has produced his films and those of other directors. “Aprile” is Nanni Moretti’s eighth film.
