Jean-Marc Longval started out as a writer/director in 1987 with "Numéro spécial," a short film that won several awards. In 1989, he directed his debut feature, "J'aurais jamais dû croiser son regard," starring Smaïn, Nathalie Cardonne and Luc Thuillier. He has also written a stage play, "L'Homme en peluche," and several texts for Smaïn and Gérard Blanc.
