Complete filmography
BiographyAfter attending high school in Lille, René Féret studied at Strasbourg's National School of Dramatic Arts. In 1970, he joined the theater company founded by Jean-Pierre Vincent and Jean Jourdheuil in Paris. He also established a company within the Clichy youth club.
His career as a film writer/director and producer began when he was 29, returning occasionally to acting with directors such as Jacques Doillon and Joyce Bunuel. Féret went on to produce thirteen features with his production companies Les Cinéastes Associés and Les Films Alyne, ten of which he wrote and directed. They include: "The Story of Paul," winner of the 1975 Jean Vigo Prize; "Solemn Communion," selected in the Official Competition at the 1977 Cannes Film Festival as well as "Baptême," nominated for several Cesar awards.
His novel of the same name was published by Robert Laffont. His feature "Les Frères Gravet" was followed by "Rue du Retrait" and "L'Enfant du pays."
