Edouard Niermans presented his first short film, "La Mémoire foudroyée," at the 1976 Cannes International Film Festival. In 1980, "Anthracite," his first feature film, was released, followed in 1986 by "Poussière d'ange," which won the SACD Prize. In 1991, he offered Alain Delon the lead role in his third feature, "Le Retour de Casanova." Meanwhile, he also worked for television, winning four prizes at the Monte Carlo Television Festival for his TV drama "L'Enfant des terres blondes." With Pierre-Antoine Hiroz, he co-directed "First on the Rope,' which was broadcast on television in April 1999 and released theatrically in July 1999.
