Biography

Based in Paris and Beirut, Lebanese filmmakers Joana Hadjithomas and Khalis Joreige have been working together for several years. Both have graduated from the Universities of Nanterre and New York (in film directing). They are presently teaching at Beirut University. Together, they have already written and directed several short films: "The Agony of the Feet" and "333 Sycamore" in 1994, and "Faute d'identités" in 1997. For several years they have been interested in playing with the value of images, focusing on the representation of Beirut. They have masterminded and set up several photographic exhibitions around this theme, including "Beyrouth, Fictions urbaines" (1997) and "Wonder Beirut" (1998). "Around the Pink House" is their first feature film.
