Based in Paris and Beirut, Lebanon film-makers Joana Hadjithomas and Khalis Joreige have been working together for several years. Both have been awarded diplomas from universities in Nanterre and New York (film department). They're presently teaching at Beirut University. Together, they've already written and directed several shorts: "The Agony of the Feet" and "333 Sycamore" (1994), "Faute d'identités" (1997). For several years they've been interested in what's at stake in the images, or more precisely, the representation of Beirut. They've conceived and executed several photographic exhibitions, including "Beyrouth, Fictions urbaines" (1997) and "Wonder Beirut" (1998). "Around the Pink House" is their first feature.
