Biography

After studying directing at the IAD film school, Frédéric Fonteyne made four short films which won awards at numerous festivals. All Frédéric Fonteyne’s short films were scripted by Philippe Blasband, whose play, "Jef," Fonteyne also staged. A teacher at the Parallax acting school, Fonteyne also heads an experimental workshop on film acting. In 1997, he made his first feature, "Max & Bobo," from another screenplay by Blasband. "A Pornographic Affair," his second feature, was presented at the 1999 Venice Film Festival, where Nathalie Baye was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.
