Biography

Lionel Delplanque's career began in 1994 with his first short film "Le Ticket." Other works followed, garnering prizes at many festivals: "Les Lustrales" (Grand Jury Prize at the 1995 Raimu Festival), "Silver Shadow" (Grand Prize for Best Screenplay at the 1997 Clermont-Ferrand Festival of Short Film) and, topping the list, "Opus 66," selected for thirty national and international festivals and awarded the Grand Prize for a Short Fantasy Film at Gérardmer in 1999, Best Director Prize at the 1999 Lille Film Festival, Audience Prize at Sao Paolo in 1998 and, in the same year, the Canal + Prize at Grenoble. His first feature film, "Promenons-nous dans les bois," is a thriller revolving around a group of young actors who've gathered together in a chateau to create a show. The film, selected for the Aquinoxe Ateliers in March 1999, was released in French theaters on 14 June, 2000.
