From 1988 to 1992, he carried out various technical image and editing jobs within the production company he'd established. After producing several personal short films ("Rouge feu," "L'Alligator") and films for other directors which won prizes in various festivals, he directed a short film, "Troubles ou la journée d'une femme ordinaire," and his first feature, "Select Hotel," which were presented in the "Cinémas en France" section at the 1994 and 1995 Cannes International Film Festivals respectively.
