Frédéric Jardin started shooting short films on Super 8 while working as assistant director to Godard, Sautet and Doillon. He made his first feature film, Loose Screws, in 1995, starring Edouard Baer and Géraldine Pailhas. He then worked on his second feature, about the gutter press. The film never saw the light of day as the producer finally decided to invest in another project. “It's this frustration that inspired Les Frères Sœurs”, explains Frédéric Jardin. Indeed his new film, co-written with Edouard Baer and Fabrice Roger-Lacan, follows the story of two brothers, played by José Garcia and Denis Podalydès, who have dreamed of making a film together for years, but just can't pull it off…
