Dominik Moll was born in Bühl, Germany. While studying at the City University of New York and then at the IDHEC (now FEMIS) film school, he made six short films including "Le Gynécologue et sa secrétaire." From 1992 to 1993, he wrote and directed "Intimacy," his first feature film. His next film, "Harry, He’s Here to Help," starring Sergi Lopez, Laurent Lucas, Mathilde Seigner and Sophie Guillemin, was selected in the Official Competition at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival, and met with great international success, including in the USA. The film won four Cesar awards in 2001.
