Biography

After getting an AA degree in literature and a diploma in film animation, Frédéric Auburtin worked as a technician and second unit director on features such as Maurice Pialat's «Under the Sun of Satan,» Luigi Comencini's «La Bohème,» and Richard Heffron's «La Révolution Française.» In 1989, Auburtin became assistant director on «La Fille des Collines» by Robin Davis, then worked with Jean-Paul Rappeneau, Bertrand Blier, Jean-Jacques Annaud and Claude Berri on sets where he met Gérard Depardieu. In 1999, he co-directed his first feature, «The Bridge.»
