Biography

Christian Gion is a screenwriter, director and producer. He made his first feature film, "The Surrounded," in 1968, starring Jacques Higelin and Rufus. A dozen films followed, each dealing with aspects of modern life in a comic vein: school got the treatment in "The Pawn" (1978) and "Cash Academy" (1992, with Jean Poiret, Anthony Delon); the world of advertising in "It's Tough for Everybody" (1973, with Bertrand Blier, Claude Piéplu and Francis Perrin) and the national lottery in "Le Gagnant" (1979, with Stéphane Audran and Michel Galabru). Among his other films, Gion has also directed two with Aldo Maccione: "Le Bourreau des cœurs" (1983) and "Pizzaiolo et mozzarel" (1985). He returned to the screen in 1999 with "Les Insaisissables," a comedy centered around the bailiff profession, with Daniel Prévost in the lead role.
