Complete filmography
BiographyRobert Kramer was born in the United States and directed his first feature "Falm" there in 1965. "In the Country" (1996), and above all, "Milestones" (1975), established Kramer as the most famous representative of the American intellectual fringe. He gradually severed his ties with America, settling in France. It was there that he shot "Guns" (1980), followed by "A toute allure," a French entry at the Cannes International Film Festival. "Doc's Kingdom" (1987) and "Route One/USA" (1989) are two of his more memorable works. The latter, a former exile's voyage (a favorite theme) across the United States, becomes a journey through time, and a way of comparing the USA of the seventies with that of the nineties. "Walk the Walk" was his twenty-third feature.
Kramer was also an actor and recently performed in Cédric Kahn's "L'Ennui" and Laurence Ferreira Barbosa's "Modern Life."
.He died 10 November, 1999 in France before the release of his film, “Cités de la plaine,” planned for 10 January, 2001. |
