Philippe Caubère was born in Marseilles in 1950. After studying litterature, he joined the théâtre d’Essai in Aix ren Provence. In 1971, he performed in several plays with the Théâtre du Soleil in Paris. In 1971, Ariane Mouchkine cast him as the eponymous lead in her filkm " Molière ". in 1978, he acted in and directed Molière’s " Don Juan " at the Théâtre du soleil. From 1981 to 1982, he wrotez, performed inb and directed twelve autobiographical stage shows (" La Danse du diable " and the 11-part " Le Roman d’un acteur ").
